MyFit
Overcoming "Gymtimidation" with On-Demand Personal Training.
For many—especially WFH workers and stay-at-home parents—the biggest hurdle to fitness isn't ability, it's access and anxiety. Commuting to a gym eats up valuable time, and "Gymtimidation" (fear of judgment in public gyms) keeps many potential users on the couch. To design MyFit, a platform that brings the gym experience to the user's safe space. The challenge was to create a booking system that feels as easy as ordering food, while managing complex logistics like trainer schedules and equipment inventory.

The "Comfort-First" Approach
Unlike traditional fitness apps that scream "Push Harder!", MyFit's UX is designed around Accessibility and Convenience.
- Privacy Centric: Users can filter instructors based on comfort levels (e.g., gender preference, "gentle" coaching style).
- Logistics Solved: The "Gym comes to you" concept means the app handles the coordination of time, place, and gear seamlessly.
Key Features & Implementation
Smart Scheduling & Recurring Habits
The Logic: Building a fitness habit is hard. I designed the "Set & Forget" recurring booking flow to reduce decision fatigue.
The Solution: Instead of booking one-by-one, users can lock in a "Every Tuesday at 8 AM" slot. The system automatically checks the instructor’s long-term availability and handles conflict resolution if a slot becomes unavailable.
Integrated Equipment Rental
Design Challenge: Users often lack equipment (dumbbells, yoga mats) at home. The Solution: I created an Inventory Add-on Flow within the booking checkout.
- State Management: When a user selects "Bring 5kg Dumbbells," the system validates if the chosen instructor has that specific gear in their inventory before confirming the booking. This prevents the "Sorry, I forgot the equipment" scenario.
Location Flexibility (Hybrid Model)
The UX: The location picker isn't just a map. It includes a "Space Feasibility" toggle.
- Home/Office: The app prompts users to ensure they have a 2x2m clear space.
- Partner Gyms: If the user wants to train in a gym but needs a guide, they can book a trainer who has access to partner facilities, bridging the gap between home and gym workouts.

"MyFit removes the friction of "getting to the gym." By handling the logistics of equipment and travel, the app empowers users to focus solely on their health, turning fitness from a chore into a convenient service."
